Chicago Police Officer Killed in Shootout; Suspect Charged with Murder
According to CBS News, a Chicago police officer was tragically killed during a shootout on the South Side in the East Chatham neighborhood. The incident occurred when a vehicle with three occupants was pulled over in the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue. As the officers approached the vehicle, one of the suspects opened fire, fatally striking Officer Enrique Martinez, 26, in a hail of bullets.
